Perhaps bread sticks soothe nerves?

Jessica Simpson, 27, met beau Tony Romo's parents on June 27, when all of them had dinner at an Olive Garden in Janesville, Wisc.

Romo, 28, who grew up in nearby Burlington, was home to play in a golf tournament.

But making a reservation at the Olive Garden surprised even the restaurant's general manager. "We thought it was a big joke," said Doug Belfanz. "Jessica Simpson's not going to the Olive Garden in Janesville, Wisconsin!"

Yep, actually, she did. Simpson, wearing a casual blouse and blue jeans, walked in holding hands with Romo, who wore a T-shirt and baseball cap.

Simpson had wine with her three-cheese ziti, but seemed more interested in Romo.

"She scooted up next to him during the meal," says Belfanz. "They were acting like a couple."

After dinner, they posed for a photo with the staff and signed autographs. Sneaking out through the kitchen, Simpson complimented the chefs on the meal.

"They were laughing," Belfanz says. "It was just a big family being out."

...Something about these two... I find myself cheering them on.  Hope it continues to go well.  Everyone deserves to be happy and in love. :)

Ashlee Simpson showed off a growing baby bump in a midriff-baring top over the weekend in Los Angeles.

"She sent me a picture of her belly," sister Jessica recently said on The View. "She's popping, it's so cute!"

...She was barely showing a month ago...crazy how fast this all happens.

Madonna's spokeswoman has released an exclusive statement to PEOPLE rejecting reports that the singer's marriage to her film director husband Guy Ritchie is on the rocks.

"Madonna's husband Guy arrived in New York last night to be with his wife and family (not in a last ditch attempt to save his marriage which does not need saving)," Liz Rosenberg told PEOPLE. "There are no plans for Madonna and Guy to divorce."

Rosenberg also denied a published report of a relationship between the singer and New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez.

"Madonna and Alex have the same manager, Guy Oseary," Rosenberg says. "They have met. They know each other and Madonna took her kids to a Yankees game last week. There's really not anything to comment on beyond that."

Adds Rosenberg: "It's nothing new that people are airing tons of dirty laundry Madonna's way lately - much of it untrue." She joked: "By the way, rumors of Madonna and Lil Wayne are quite exaggerated as well."

Us Weekly reports in its new issue, on newsstands tomorrow, that Madonna's seven-year marriage to Guy Ritchie has stalled out - and the singer has been hosting late-night visits from New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez at her Central Park West apartment in New York City.

A ringless and grim-faced Ritchie, 39, arrived in New York City from London yesterday after several weeks apart from his family. A source tells Us that the $28-million-a-year Rodriguez, 32, has made numerous solo nighttime visits to Madonna, 49, at her spacious home and would sneak out "as late as midnight." Says the source, "All the doormen are talking."

Rodriguez attended Madonna's April 30 NYC concert; the singer sat in his seats at a Yankees game on June 22 (it was the first time she ever was photographed at a Yankees game). Her son Rocco, 7, also sported Yankees gear on June 25 while playing in Central Park.

Rodriguez, married with two young daughters, has already faced speculation about cheating: In 2007, he and a stripper were reportedly spied in Toronto, Miami and Dallas.

Complicating matters: Former Yankee slugger Jose Canseco - who once dated Madonna - wrote in his book Vindicted that he "hates [A-Rod's] guts" because he once hit on his wife.

Madonna has been in NYC since the venerable Times of London confirmed that she consulted the same high-profile divorce attorney who worked with Paul McCartney and Prince Charles. Meanwhile, Us confirms Ritchie has also sought legal advice from Forsters law firm in London.

A-Rod's Yankees rep, when reached for comment, referred Us to their shared manager Guy Oseary. When reached by Us, Oseary hung up the phone. Madonna's rep, Liz Rosenberg, was not available.

...NO WAY!  I refuse to believe this.  I'm sure she and A-Rod are friends.  They share the same trainer, friends, etc.  Come on!  Guy flew in to NYC with LOTS of luggage yesterday.  That sounds like a man who is staying for a while.  Come on you two... make it work!
