Madonna and Guy Ritchie have reportedly agreed to end their seven-year marriage.
A friend said last night: "They were both very calm. Madonna told Guy: ‘I'm sorry, I want a divorce'. And he agreed. It was quite painless but very sad."
One disclosed to the Daily Mirror: "He's a bit down in the dumps, and who can blame him. He's off to the country to get a bit of peace and quiet."
Madonna, 49 reportedly has begun seeking advice from divorce attorney Fiona Shackleton, who represented Paul McCartney in his divorce. Ritchie, 39, is believed to be consulting with Forsters, a lesser-known London law firm.
The couple apparently did not have a prenuptial agreement which could potentially lead to a 50-50 split of assets. Madonna is believed to be worth about $600 million.
...I just find it SO hard to believe that Madonna married without a prenup. She has always been so business savvy. Look at the empire she built! Either way... its so sad. They really seemed perfect for each other. _______________________

Us Weekly reports in its latest issue, on newsstands now, that Gyllenhaal has quietly moved into Witherspoon's $5 million L.A. home and is already part of her fiercely guarded family.
The actor, 27, is even helping to raise her two kids - Ava, 8, and Deacon, 4 - from her former marriage to Ryan Phillippe.
"Marriage is definitely what they are working toward," a source close to the actress, 32, tells Us of the couple who've been together for a year.
"They literally don't want to spend any time away from each other," a Witherspoon pal adds.
