Flip flops not so good for your footsies?

Bad news for you oh-so-fashionable & earthy ladies out there :(

If you enjoy flip flops and high heels you may be screwed. We talked about it on the air this morning and apparently flops are bad for your feet! I thought Johnny was full of hot air but it turns out he's got a point...check this out from FORBES.com:

[ Yes, you heard correctly--those rubber soles aren't doing your dogs any good.

While spike-heeled stilettos and strappy sandals seem like the obvious culprits when it comes to foot pain, doctors say the worst shoes a person can wear are those flat thongs. And though many people believe wearing them is a way to give their feet a break, in fact, it's quite the opposite. The shoes are a major cause of foot problems because they offer little, if any, support.

"Flip-flops have a spongy sole, so when the foot hits the ground, it roles inward and the sponge allows it to roll even more than usual," says Dr. John E. Mancuso, a podiatrist at the Manhattan Podiatry Associates in New York. "This is called pronation, and it causes many problems in the foot."  ]

DAMN IT! What are we supposed to wear?! Tennis shoes on the daily? Hate to sound like such a diva but...HOW UNFASHIONABLE! My Rainbow flops are so cute and such a part of my Cali heritage and newfound love of Florida culture!

If you have a tip on how we can tackle this problem, comment me & let's get it done! LOL We need a solution to this devastating news :)

I''m SO torn! These are both bad choices but they're so damn cute!

My pink Rainbow Sandals and my dream Jimmy Choos from Sex & City movie!

And if you have suggestions, don't start with the "just slip on a pair of crocs."

I'd rather keep my weird lookin monkey toes.

I had heard about the flip flops and as for the heels. I believe if it looks like it hurts then it proably does. I mostly wear flip flops so of course this sucks for me.
It is time for a shoe line by JADYE beautiful and comfortable. Good luck trying to get that one up and running.

I was listening this morning on my way to work! I don't wear flip flops every day because my work attire requires closed-toe dress shoes. I wear flats or near-flats because I am on my feet all day. Anyway, when I'm off work I wear flip flops. From my experience, on days that I spend the entire day on my feet, I'm just fine in flip flops. When I wear sneakers, however, I wind up getting blisters or general soreness. This is with Nike Shox and Skechers, not some cheap shoes. So take that, flip flop haters!

    A-Freakin-Men.

Wearing Crocs just screams, "I give up. Seriously - I'm done. I'm so done that I'm now wearing ugly foam shoes. Just shoot me."

What about the new 'Fit Flops' that are supposed to get your legs & butt in shape just by wearing them? I wonder if those are any better?

ok, I am a flip-flop lover. I wear them every chance I get. I do realize though, that they are not the best for feet. So I have a rule: If I know that I am going to be walking and on my feet for the better part of the day, I wear sneakers and just deal with it. You can find a few cute pairs and since you probably won't wear them that often, you don't have to worry about them getting grungy looking. So basically I save sneakers for extreme days, like a trip to Disney. Other than that, I wear flip-flops (unless of course, I'm at work).

And not that I have a pair (because I don't) but I've really been thinking about buying a pair of croc flip-flops, which are not nearly as dreadful as those crazy clog things they have!
