What do you do when you have a big 3 day weekend? Are you one of those who just sleep and rest those day? Are you one to spend much needed time with your family? Are you one to re connect with a loved one in life? Whenever I can get a chance to get off for a couple of days, I try to get out of town. I love to just hit the road and find a new place that I have never been before and go there. If that fails then I just go to Miami. I love Miami to chill and relax. But I think this weekend I am going stay in town and do some much need things around my place. I have a walk in closet that I can't walk in. I have kitchen cabinets that needs to be rearranged. You know how you have a "to do" list and you never get to it. I think this weekend I am going to try to get to a couple of the things on my list. Then again, college football starts this weekend and I may just watch that all weekend. I really don't want to do that but if I just get really lazy, tv here I come.
So what are you're plans for this weekend? Are you staying town or are you going away?
How was your weekend? Mine was pretty chill. I didn't go out but I did have dinner with a friend on Friday and Sat. Nothing like a great meal and great conversation. I really enjoy that kind of evening. Seeing that I am not 100% over my illnes, I have not really gone out. I haven't been to Cigar night or anything. That is cool because I don't really miss it. I enjoy doing it but I don't miss it.
I as so glad that Tropical Storm Fay is gone! It has been pretty gloomy around here. Rain for the whole week. My thought and prayers goes out to the families that have lost their homes in the flooding. We are trying to put something together to help them now. What you can do for me is let me know what you need. If you know of a family that is dealing with the flood, let me know what they need. Is it food, water, clothing or money? Let me know what the need is. Is it help cleaning, manpower, help moving things around. Please hit me back and give me an idea of what the need is.
What are doing this weekend? Has the weather made you crazy? For me, I am so glad that the weekend is here. I just want to do nothing but sleep. No cigar night for me tonight. I am still getting over the sickness that I had. I am about 95% there. I don't want to do anything that will make me relaps so I am chillin. Tonight I am having dinner at a really nice spanish place. I guess I am having Puerto Rican flashback. I miss that food so much. If I could cook it, I would cook it all the time. Plantain, Chicken Paella, Pollo Asado, Ropa Vieja, Picadillo Empanada, Skirt Steak, White rice and black rice. Now let finish it with som Flan, Tres Leches, Creme Brule. UMMMMMM. Can you cook this food? Anyway have a safe weekend and stay dry ok.

Ok right now, we are only getting the rain from Tropical Storm Fay. My question to you is: Were you prepared? I gave myself about a B-. I was prepared the way I prepare. I mean, I had water, candles, food and the car was filled with gas. Other than that, what else was it to do. I had the thing around me to make my life conforable. If it got really really bad, then I would have gone to someone's home that was more prepared then me. I know that isn't a good way to get ready but it worked for me. I have friends that I would have checked in and see what they had and then crashed at the place that had the best set up. Good or bad it works for me.
How about you? Were you ready? Did you have everything you needed? If it had was really bad, were you ready? This was just a test, did you pass?
Are you ready for Hurricane Fay? This is the first one of the season that has affected us. All weekend long, I was forced to watch the tv to make sure we aren't going to be hit directly by a hurricane. I spent all day Sunday getting information and taking notes to make sure we were ready to go on the air for Monday morning. It's weird that when you do morning radio, your life sometimes belong to the job. I guess it's like that no matter what you do. If you are going to be successful at you career, there are times that you go beyond the so call 9 to 5. After doing morning radio for a while it become part of your life. You realise when you have to put your life on hold to make sure the listeners get info that they need. For me, it's just a part of life and I love what I do.
I want to thank all the people that came out to our broadcast and dropped off school supplies. It was an amazing turnout. Alex Diaz and myself were at the Wal-mart on E. Colonial. It rained all day and there was still people coming and dropping off school supplies. Thank you so much.
Here is a special message for my Mother in Charlotte. She reads my blog. Mom, I love you and dad with all my heart. I miss the two of you so so much. The toughest part for me to come is to leave. I'm glad you are happy and having a great time with your water aerobics class. Maybe next time I will come and join you and your 70 year old friends in the pool. Joking, you know I'm not gonna do that. Anyway take care and kiss dad for me. I love you Mom!
