So, I just got an invitation to come in for the Orlando's Got Talent section of the morning show on Friday morning. It should be a great time and it'll be nice to put faces to voices from everyone. Hope everyone checks it out!
Listen Friday morning, I'll be on XL at around 9!
Hurricane Fay-ker.
OK, I'm not from Florida and haven't experienced the destruction and mayhem that a hurricane or TS can bring in, but I was let down by the storm that was supposed to come through today. I miss big storms in Kansas, and was excited to get to sit on my porch and watch it rain and lightning for a solid couple hours. It didn't happen, oh well.
In no way am I making light of the tragedy that can come from a strong storm (Katrina). I was just hoping for something a little more interesting. Atleast the kiddies got a free day from school!

hey hey
Hey everyone,
I promised a big update soon, and here it is...a bit sooner than anticipated which is NEVER a bad thing. We just got word that we'll be opening up for Blessid Union of Souls for 3 days on their upcoming tour, with dates in Sebastian, Fl at Captain Hiram's on 8/22 , Ft. Myers, Fl at Ricochet's on 8/24 and at Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta on 8/25 . This is my first time opening for someone who has really made some waves in the business. They had a couple HUUUUGE hits in the 90s that gave them a very successful career well into the 2000's, check out their Myspace if ya get a chance. Their two most memorable songs were ' I Believe ' and ' Hey Leonardo (She Likes Me For Me) ' . I know that you all have heard them. It's fantastic to watch something like this grow, and I hope that everyone is just as excited as I am. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.
Talk to ya soon!
Clayton
Sorry it's been such a long time !
Wow,
It's been a while since I updated everyone on what's been going on. On a small note, saw the Dark Knight, and as the media frenzy shows, it was a good movie. I don't know if it's quite 'the best movie ever' but entertaining nonetheless. Heath Ledger did a great job, not just because of the tragedy, but because he played that part so well, it made me wish he was on screen more. What was the deal with Christian Bale's 'batman' voice?
Well we released the CD on August 2nd in Lawrence, Ks, which is
about 15 minutes away from where I grew up in Topeka, but has lots
better venues. We played at a place called The Granada (www.thegranada.com)
. My old friend and probably the best drummer I've ever played with
Chris Woolaway played drums that night with me, his good friend Alan
Eisman played bass. That guy can REALLY play. I also had the pleasure
to ask my parents to get onstage and play a few tunes with me. Feel
free to check out some of the videos on Youtube.
Just search for Clayton Senne , you should catch em, there aren't too
many up right now, so there shouldn't be tons of confusion. The night
was memorable to say the least. We had a ton of old friends come out to
say hey and enjoy the concert. I hope to make it back to Lawrence soon.
There is this killer thai food restaurant called Zen Zero just down the
street from The Granada, if you are ever in Lawrence, do yourself a
favor and go to Zen Zero, I like the chicken Singapore noodles.
Right now, we're just concentrating on getting the CD some
digital distribution. Hopefully within the next 2 weeks or so, it'll be
available on iTunes,
CDBaby etc. etc. I'm really excited about what the future brings and
hope that you all are too, there are some big things in the chute that
hopefully will pan out, if they do, we'll have some big news to share
with everyone. Also, I'd like to formally introduce Scott Hall as the
new drummer in this whole organization. He's one of my top friends on Myspace,
I think his name is Scott.The.Robot . He's a MEGA nice guy and a top
notch drummer, so if you get a chance, stop by, drop him a message on
his Myspace. I hope this reaches everyone well and in good health.
For the music,
Clayton
Uploaded the new album to Myspace! (myspace.com/musicbyclayton)
Wow wow wow,
So, I've been in Kansas for the past week visiting friends and family
and it's been nice to be home. Been doing some press for the CD release
show coming up on Saturday, and got an article in the local paper! fun
fun!http://www.cjonline.com/st
I'm doing some TV promo tomorrow...and then the big day is Saturday! I'm so excited to put something like this out, something that I'm so proud of! I'll be back in beautiful Florida around the 9th of August and I'm stoked to come home, and have some form of a CD release party sometime mid-late August. I'm SO excited, I hope everyone goes and checks the stuff out! Enjoy your weather down there! I miss it all!

Woohooo!!!
busy busy busy
So,
We finally decided on images to use for the album and it's a nice load off my back to know that the final stages of production are now out of my hands. Well, kind of a load off, with me being the bit of the control freak I am, it scares me to know that there's nothing I can do about it now. Oh well! I just hope that everyone keeps up their end of the bargain! I leave on Wednesday to go home to Kansas, it'll be nice to see my family and I'm throwing a CD release show in Lawrence (close to where I'm from) on August 2nd, so I'm very excited about that. My parents (who are ridiculous musicians) are actually going to get on stage and do a couple tunes with me too, so that'll be tons of fun. I'm excited to share the album with everyone down here in Florida too, I just hope it lives up to what you would expect from me. Well, it's getting late and I should probably try and get some sleep, I have a very long day tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great night!
Best,
Clayton
Holy whoa, it's been a while
So it's been a while since I've posted here, just been busy busy busy trying to get everything for the album finished up so I can have something quality to give to you all. I hope you're even half as excited about this as I am!
Everything's been going pretty well otherwise, just out playing, doing my thing. I leave on Wednesday to go back home to Kansas for a week and to play a huge show at The Granada there, which is kinda like Lawrence, Ks's The Social...in a way. I've played there numerous times before when I lived there, but never as a solo artist, so I'm excited to share with Lawrence what I've been up to musically for the past couple years.
A gig just came my way for Saturday, which is at Central Station. Doors are at 9, I'll be on just after 10, and it's only $5 so everyone should come out! It's Saturday! It's gonna be fun, you just don't want to admit it to yourself :) This is also the last time I'll be playing in Orlando for about 6 weeks, so get it while the gettins good lol.
I hope everyone else is doing well and I promise to be a bit more diligent in my postings!
Clayton
Woohoo!!!!!! Album =95% done
So today, I'm proud to say, we got the album back it's final process of being worked on in NYC. I'm so proud of how it sounds and I'm excited to not only share it with everyone in Orlando, but anywhere people want to listen. I'm really fired up and feel that this set of recordings will be one that I can build the rest of my career off of. Forgive the shameless hype plug, but I know when it is released that yall will like it!
That's about it! Take it easy and talk to ya soon, I have to drive to Atlanta tomorrow for a gig on Friday....long drive = good thinking time
CDS
Haven't posted in a while
Hey everyone,
I figured there are no better reasons to write
than when there is some cool stuff going on in life. Fourth of July was
fun, this was the first time I've ever spent it away from friends and
family and that was a unique experience. I guess that means I'm growing
up, the fireworks show in Orlando was pretty nice though, I could see
it from my place. I don't get the same excitement I once used to for
fireworks, maybe it's because I wasn't around my nieces and nephews
this year to get that 'joy of a child' thing. Cause for me, I still
enjoy lighting things on fire, so I'll blame it on my 15 nieces and
nephews. I remember when I was younger going to ' Go 4th ' which was
the festival in Topeka and it was during times like that, watching my
parents perform that I think I really got the musician bug. It sounds
cheesy, but they would sing that Lee Greenwood 'Proud to be an
American' song at Go 4th, right before they would start the show and I
just remember them bringing so many people to tears, because they were
so amazing. I hope everyone at SOME point in their life has the
opportunity to experience music that moves them to tears. There's
something about it that I just can't really explain, it's just pure,
raw....power . It's from my parents I think that I learned the value in
singing every note like it's the last breath that will ever pass over
my vocal cords, and for that mindset - to sing with ALL that I am - I
am eternally grateful.
Also, a few days ago, John Mayer
released a live album, and it's very very good as I think most would
expect. JM's one of those few guys that I thoroughly enjoy musically
and feel like I've kinda grown up with. His first album hit me around
the time when I was into the polished pop stuff and after seeing him
live a few times, knew that he was a GREAT guitar player also. I also
was a fan of his songwriting. As bad as it may sound, especially cause
I have no connection to it, 'Daughters' was a phenominal song and the
wordplay he used is engaging to say the least. When he released
'Continuum' though, that album really changed the way I saw music and I
am thankful that he released that album, at that point in life, cause
that's exactly what I needed and right when I needed it. For me the
thought process was this 'Here's this multi-Grammy winning artist,
brilliant writer, amazing guitar player and he's playing SIMPLE simple
stuff, and just throwing in flashes of amazingness' . That really blew
me away, I had always understood the KISS method and all, but for the
first time it REALLY seemed to click. After that point, I stopped
trying to write these overly-complex songs and started to write to
where the song shined through and everything else was just icing on the
cake.
So if you get a chance, check out 'Where The Light Is'
on DVD or CD. I'm a huge fan of concert DVDs, they are in fact the only
DVDs I own. I'm not huge into watching movies, but concerts are a
different story. It's also nice to see a performance of the John Mayer
Trio , which is where he really showcases his chops.
Lastly, I'm uploading my songs to be mastered as we speak and I am SO
excited to have this album done and I know that everyone is going to
love it. If you only love it 10% as much as I do, we'll be in GREAT
shape. As always, stay tuned and I'll be back sooner than later!
Cheers!

Super stoked!
So, we're in the studio as I type working on putting the finishing touches on the album, and I couldn't be happier. It sounds great, for once a recording has come out like I heard it in my head!
Also, shameless plug for my boy John Mayer, his new live DVD and live double disc comes out next week. I've heard it, and it's awesome! Anyone who even REMOTELY enjoys his music would enjoy it. called 'Where the Light Is' . Do yourself a favor, go buy it, support one of the best musicians of my generation!
Hope everyone's day is going well. HOORAY ITS FRIDAY!
Also, still lookin for a bassist/drummer to share the stage with. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
