Barenaked Ladies singer Ed Robertsonwas involved in a float-plane crash north of Bancroft, Canada, on Sunday.
And he's lucky to be alive!
Robertson's plane went down in the woods north of Bancroft early Sunday afternoon.
"Everyone is fine and that is the important thing," said Adam Smith,
a spokesman for the band. "That's all the comment we have at this
time."
A police spokesperson added a few more details.
They say, "At 12:30 p.m. a Cessna 206 was taking off from Baptiste
Lake, lost airspeed and entered a wooded area west of the lake."
He said the plane was totaled but all four adults managed to walk out of the woods and soon reported the crash.

An 'insider' reveals to the Daily Mail that Madonna and Guy Ritchie renewed their wedding vows at a private Kabbalah ceremony in London.
Madge supposedly flew her Kabbalah teacher over from Los Angeles to conduct the proceedings.
The source says:
"It was very intimate and both Guy and Madonna made vows
to each other and pledged to try to make their marriage strong again.
The ceremony lasted about an hour. They turned up at the kabbalah
centre in their gym clothes and changed into white robes. Everyone at
the centre hopes that they will get through their recent rough patch."

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games has become the most-watched U.S. television event of all time.
Through 16 days of coverage, 211 million viewers have watched the
Olympics on NBC and its sister cable channels, according to Nielsen
Media Research.
That’s 2 million ahead of the 1996 Atlanta Games, the previous all-time record-holder.
The Beijing Games reportedly defied industry expectations by trending 11% higher than the Athens Games four years ago.
The Michael Phelps drama that unfolded felt like a once-in-a-lifetime sort of a thing.

Britney Performing at VMAS?
“Britney Spears will not be performing at the VMAs this year. I’m telling you officially and unequivocally,” Ryan Seacrest quoted her manager, Larry Rudolph, as saying on his KIIS-FM radio show Monday morning.
Rudolph told Seacrest that Spears “is in the middle of recording her
next album, which is going amazingly well, and was never supposed to
perform at that show.”
The possibility of Spears performing had been rumored for weeks.
(Her hair stylist Kim Vo even told E! News that he was creating three
VMA looks for the singer, hinting that one of the ‘dos was for her
performance.)
The singer is still involved in the show in some capacity, however.
She is appearing alongside host Russell Brand in cheeky TV spots promoting the September 7 show.
She is also up for three VMAs — including “Video of the Year” — for her song “Piece of Me.”
Spears has never won a “Moonman,” despite being nominated 17 times.
Last year, she raised eyebrows after her rocky opening performance
of “Gimme More.” The New York Times called her “awful,” writing that
she “tottered around the stage, dancing tentatively and doing nothing
that sounded or looked like real live singing.”

Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani added to their family with the birth of baby Zuma on Thursday.
Zuma Nesta Rock weighed 8 pounds and 5 ounces when he was born Thursday afternoon, according to publicist Dave Tomberlin.
"Mother, baby and family are all happy and healthy," he said in a statement.
The pop star and fashionista has another son, 2-year-old Kingston, with
her husband, rocker Gavin Rossdale. Rossdale also has a teenage
daughter with fashion designer Pearl Lowe.
SO WHY ZUMA?-after Zuma Beach in Malibu, citing a profile of
Rossdale which said he had an epiphany that began his career.
"He was standing on Zuma Beach in the early morning after working
all night as a production assistant on a music video and was quoted as
saying he realized he was wasting his time," Satran says. "He drove up
the coast, slept in his car, and started making the moves that would
launch his career."
Zuma is also the name of a 1975 album by Neil Young and Crazy Horse.
Nesta, meanwhile, was Bob Marley's first name before an immigration official switched it with his middle name, Robert.
"This name obviously links to big brother Kingston's and is another nod to Jamaica and reggae," says Satran.
Bob Marley's son Ziggy used Nesta as a middle name for his son, as
did his other son Rohan, who has a son named John Nesta Marley with
singer Lauryn Hill.
The name Rock "needs no explanation," given that the baby's parents
are rock stars, Satran says, and the fact that we're "long overdue for
a Rock Hudson-inspired revival."

DMB FAN?---Sad News
The Dave Matthews Band's saxophonist LeRoi Moore has passed away.
He was 46 years young.
The musician was injured in an ATV accident in June, resulting in a punctured lung and broken ribs.
Moore went back into the hospital last month due to complications.
He passed away Tuesday in Los Angeles after more complications.
Our condolences to LeRoi's family and bandmates.

Jessica Alba and Britney Spears lost weight, and have tips for you
“I’m the healthiest I’ve been all my life,” Britney, 26,
tells OK!. “My diet has a lot to do with my getting into shape. I have
no sugar. I don’t eat fruit or even fruit juice because of the sugar. I
eat chicken and salmon and rice. I eat avocados. I’ll have egg whites
for breakfast and sometimes turkey burgers for lunch. I try to do just
1,200 calories a day. It may sound like it’s not much, but it’s
actually a lot of food if you eat the right things.”

Fergie weird about dating Justin Timberlake
“I almost didn’t go out with him because he was so young, but he was

The divas will all unite for a live performance of the single
on Sept. 5, during the star-studded Stand Up To Cancer television

44 year-old actor Shelley Malil is best known for his bit part as one of Steve Carrel’s co-workers in the movie The 40 Year-Old Virgin. He was also on those Budweiser commercials as one of the “What are you doing?” guys and gets a lot of small parts in films playing Indian characters. Malil was arrested and taken into custody yesterday for allegedly stabbing his ex girlfriend over 20 times in her home in San Marcos, CA. He is said to have found another man at her house in the backyard, and her two children were thought to be home at the time. The victim is in critical condition in the hospital.
I’m not going to include the description of what happened to the victim. There are some disturbing details of the woman’s injuries that made me feel sick. If you want to read that part, it’s at the source, but warning on that link if you read the whole story.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said Shelley Malil, a resident of Sherman Oaks, was taken into custody at the Oceanside Amtrak station in connection with the attack around 6 p.m.
The sheriff’s department said the stabbing took place on Sunday just before 9 p.m. in the 1800 block of Shade Tree Drive in San Marcos. Officials said the attacker arrived at the his ex-girlfriend’s home and found her in the back yard with a man. Detectives said he grabbed a knife and began stabbing her repeatedly and then chased the victim through her home. Her male companion was also stabbed in the hand when he tried to intervene, authorities said.
A woman who lives nearby told NBC 7/39 she heard the victim screaming and that the attacker stabbed the woman as many as 20 times. The neighbor also said the victim was a mother with two children who were home at the time of the attack.

Shia to have amputation?
Doctors have told Shia LaBeouf they may have to amputate one of his injured fingers, Star has learned exclusively.
The young star, now working on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is likely to lose the pinky on his left hand, a source on the movie set says.
"Shia called producers yesterday and told them," the source on the set
in Alamogordo, N.M. says. "It's really thrown the movie into turmoil."
Shia, 21, mangled his hand when his SUV rolled over twice in a
July 27 accident in West Hollywood. He was cited for DUI although cops
say they do not believe the accident was his fault.
A request for comment from Shia's rep was not answered at press time.

If
you watched the Opening Ceremony on Friday night, chances are you said
something like, "no way that's possible" at least once. It turns out
you were right.
The
faked fireworks were actually set-off at the stadium, but because of
potential dangers in filming the display live from a helicopter,
viewers at home were shown a pre-recorded, computer-generated shot. It
sounds dishonest, but I'm not sure it's such a terrible thing.
The
Opening Ceremony is, at its core, just one big performance. And isn't
it accepted that some things might not be legit at a performance? The
final torch bearer wasn't actually running around the top of the
stadium, does the fact that everyone could figure that out make it any
less impressive? It might have been unnecessarily deceptive, but the
firework-faking isn't really that big of a deal. But, if I found out
that the lighted-drum thing wasn't on the up and up, then we'll have
problems, China.
Visiting the official Isaac Hayes site right now is a fairly spooky thing. As of this moment (2:28 am on
Monday, August 11), the site not only hasn't been edited to reflect ex-Chef's death, but just one click beyond the opening splash page defaults to a smiling pop-up photo of Hayes with Samuel Jackson and . . . Bernie Mac.
The group shot isn't completely random: Hayes appears as himself in the upcoming comedy Soul Men,
which stars Mac and Jackson. But of course, the 50-year-old Mac died on
Saturday due to complications from a pnuemonia, one day before Hayes was pronounced dead in Memphis. We are not superstitious crazies, but the visual is fairly jarring. Indubitably, moreso to Samuel Jackson.
